Program Leader: Little Springs & Sports Plus Summer Camps

The Kenilworth Park District is seeking mature, dynamic, motivated, energetic, fun, and responsible individuals to be Program Leaders for our Little Springs and Sports Plus Summer Camps. Program Leaders are the teachers of camp. They help develop a creative curriculum to stimulate young minds from science to music, to dance and cooking. They help oversee staff in camp.
The Little Springs & Sports Plus summer camps have been a part of the Kenilworth Park District for 30+ years. Each camp is 6 weeks long and runs from June 18, 2018 – July 27, 2018. The camp starts at 9AM and has two release options of 12:00 PM or the extended day option of 1:30PM. Little Springs summer camp is for children ages 3 years to 1st grade. Sports Plus camp is for children ages 2nd grade to 6th grade.
Program Leaders are responsible for assisting camp Co-Directors in directing, supervising, and organizing all staff and campers in their groups within activities and throughout the camp. Program Leaders participate in the development and implementation of program activities for campers. They are responsible for maintaining high standards of health and safety, and are to be role models for campers and staff in their attitude and behavior.
The preferred candidate will possess a 4-year college degree and previous summer camp and/or teaching experience. Experience in the development and delivery of programs and activities for children is preferred. Must be able to submit to a background check, obtain or become certified in first aid or CPR, and be part of a team that works very closely with one another.
